Energy Transition and Focused Carbon Footprint Reduction Augmented by Digitalization

Wednesday 4 May
602
Technical / Poster Session
The next decade will witness two mega trends - energy transition and digitalization - and will be shaped accordingly. To address and contain deleterious impact to our climate and move to a net-zero emissions energy system while also meeting the growing demand for energy, we have to adapt an approach based on science, facts and information, instead of investing efforts in chasing popular, however unproven hypes. Sensors and digitalization enable the design and operation of entirely new energy systems at the device, plant and regional scales – transforming the way we manage the carbon footprint of industrial processes. As such, in this this session papers presented will discuss conscious efforts to reduce our carbon footprint and energy transition augmented by digitalization.
