Tackling Mature Field Challenges, Rejuvenation, and Decommissioning

Thursday 5 May

Technical / Poster Session
The oil and gas market took a big hit during the COVID-19 outbreak. This resulted in slowing down exploration, and shutting down projects that battled to survive given the absence of economical viability, putting a lot of focus on mature fields to sustain the production demand. This session discusses technological advances and different rejuvenation schemes that can be applied in mature fields, to optimize production and efficiently access and produce the remaining oil and gas. The focus will be on waterflooding, chemical flooding, soft micro-gel particle flooding schemes, isolation methods to prevent water breakthrough, as well as well intervention and decommissioning techniques.
