West Africa’s Oil & Gas in Search of Investment in the Wake of Energy Transition
The ministerial keynote speeches will focus on policies, laws, and regulations covering the exploration and development of petroleum in selected countries. They will make the case for continuous investment to exploit the oil and gas resources in West Africa, laying out the specific investment packages being offered by their respective countries. This ministerial keynote session will also address security concerns in the sub region and its likely impact on oil and gas activities with the objective to assuring the international oil companies that the region still remains viable for business. The ministers will also discuss implications of the pending energy transition and options for collaborations with the United States for development of existing oil resources and additional tools to prepare countries for the transition if need be.
Building Resilience for Localization, Sanctity of Contract, and Energy Transition in West Africa
A moderated session with the International Oil Companies (IOC’s) to discuss their operations within the sub region. Impact of government policies on their investment, the use of new technology, navigating local content regulations, sanctity of contracts, and their corporate social responsibility activities. These companies will also discuss plans for the impending energy transition and building resilience to deal with the impact of COVID-19 on their businesses.
